Uzbekistan and Amazon Kuiper Establish Cooperation to Develop High-Speed Satellite Internet Services

As part of his official visit to the United States, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with Lisa Scalpone, Director of International Consumer Business at Amazon Kuiper.
The meeting focused on the implementation of Project Kuiper services in Uzbekistan, the development of a digital ecosystem through IT Park, and the deployment of high-speed satellite Internet services.
It was emphasized that this initiative plays a crucial role in advancing the country’s modern Internet infrastructure, supporting innovative projects, and expanding access to digital services.
During the negotiations, both sides noted that practical cooperation has been established for the implementation of Amazon Kuiper services in Uzbekistan.
Amazon Kuiper is a U.S.-based private aerospace company developing orbital Internet networks and satellite infrastructure. The primary goal of the project is to provide populations worldwide with high-speed Internet connectivity and ensure global coverage.
For reference: A Memorandum of Understanding was previously signed between the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Amazon Kuiper Commercial Services LLC, formalizing bilateral cooperation.
