Uzbekistan Holds Training Seminar to Strengthen Artificial Intelligence Skills of Regional Leaders

The program aimed to strengthen both theoretical knowledge and practical skills of regional executives in applying artificial intelligence tools, while promoting the introduction of advanced digital solutions in public administration.
Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov took part in the seminar and addressed the participants. He noted that artificial intelligence is becoming a key strategic factor in national and regional governance and stressed the importance of proactive engagement in this process, as well as the development of a professional culture for the responsible use of AI technologies.
The seminar provided an in-depth overview of Uzbekistan’s Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy through 2030 and outlined the specific responsibilities of regional authorities in its implementation. Participants reviewed the strategy’s objectives, performance indicators, and priority tasks assigned to ministries and agencies, with a focus on strengthening managerial accountability.
Discussions also covered the use of artificial intelligence for real-time analysis and forecasting of regional economic potential, investment attractiveness, and environmental risks.
Practical sessions addressed process optimization models, the application of AI-based solutions, efficient resource management, and measures to improve administrative effectiveness.
In addition, particular attention was given to ethical standards in the use of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity safeguards, and institutional approaches to ensuring transparency and openness in governance.
The seminar is expected to contribute to the development of responsible and secure AI practices among regional leaders and to support the wider adoption of innovative approaches in socio-economic development, investment promotion, and the management of environmental and infrastructure systems.
