Central Asia 2026 GCCM International Forum Opens in Tashkent

The opening ceremony of the Central Asia 2026 GCCM international operator meeting was held in Tashkent, aimed at accelerating digital transformation processes and strengthening international telecommunications cooperation.

The prestigious forum brought together more than 300 industry experts from 75 countries, including representatives of leading telecommunications companies and international organizations.
The agenda focuses on priority areas aligned with Uzbekistan’s strategy to develop as a regional digital hub. In particular, discussions center on increasing transit capacity through the expansion of cross-border backbone networks, advancing data center infrastructure and cloud technologies, and ensuring cybersecurity across global networks.
The forum also includes negotiations with major international companies, including China Mobile, Deutsche Telekom, ZTE and Kazakhtelecom, focusing on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, implementing new digital projects and attracting investment.
For reference, the platform is organized by Carrier Community and has been facilitating cooperation between mobile and fixed-line operators, as well as the development of a unified business ecosystem, since 2008.
Hosting the forum in Tashkent marks an important step toward strengthening Uzbekistan’s position in the international telecommunications market and enhancing the country’s investment attractiveness.
