The discussions focused on the outcomes of cooperation with Oxford Insights aimed at enhancing the country’s AI capabilities. It was noted that Uzbekistan has achieved measurable progress in international rankings.
The parties reviewed key results delivered during the 2024–2026 period. These include the development of strategic documents covering the use of artificial intelligence in the public sector, ethical frameworks, public procurement mechanisms, data exchange systems, the establishment of a GovTech Hub, and regulatory approaches.
As part of the cooperation, a comprehensive assessment of Uzbekistan’s AI potential was conducted, followed by the formulation of targeted recommendations for the integration of AI technologies into public administration. These efforts have laid the foundation for further development of national AI infrastructure, increased adoption in the public sector and improved sustainability indicators.
The next phase of cooperation will focus on scaling and institutionalizing the achieved results. Priority areas include the continued development of AI infrastructure, wider deployment of technologies across government institutions and strengthening of human capital.
The meeting also considered the possibility of establishing a local presence of Oxford Insights in Uzbekistan to ensure more systematic engagement with government agencies.
For reference, Oxford Insights is one of the world’s leading organizations specializing in assessing government readiness for artificial intelligence and is the author of the Government AI Readiness Index.
Cooperation in this area, launched in 2024, continues to contribute to the development of national AI policy and the acceleration of digital transformation in Uzbekistan.
