Cooperation with Meta on Digital Skills and Artificial Intelligence Discussed

Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with representatives of Meta. The discussions were attended by Senura Abeywardena and Yerassyl Kalikhan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the regulation of digital platforms and emerging technologies, the study of international best practices in digital governance, and the further development of Uzbekistan’s digital economy.
Particular attention was given to strengthening the digital skills of young people, as well as expanding education and competencies in the field of artificial intelligence.
The sides also reviewed prospects for enhancing online safety, especially the protection of young users, implementing awareness initiatives, and advancing joint programs based on public-private partnerships.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties identified priority areas for future cooperation aimed at supporting innovation and the startup ecosystem, facilitating knowledge exchange, and expanding institutional collaboration.
