The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in digital education, scientific research, 5G and 6G technologies, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Particular attention was given to the training of highly qualified specialists for the telecommunications and information technology sectors.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation between M.A. Bonch-Bruevich Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications, Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi and Cyber ​​University.

The talks also covered the launch of dual-degree programs, the expansion of opportunities for Uzbek students to pursue master’s and doctoral studies, and the development of academic exchange initiatives.

Particular emphasis was placed on the prospects for establishing a joint research center focused on next-generation communication networks and radio frequency spectrum management systems.

During the visit, Minister Sherzod Shermatov met with Uzbek students studying at M.A. Bonch-Bruevich Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications, reviewed their academic and living conditions, and answered questions regarding education and career opportunities.

The delegation also toured the university’s scientific laboratories and research centers, including facilities specializing in cybersecurity, radio communications, media technologies and advanced telecommunications solutions. Participants were introduced to the university’s scientific and educational infrastructure, as well as its ongoing innovation projects.

The expansion of cooperation between the educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Russia is expected to contribute to the preparation of internationally competitive specialists, the implementation of joint research initiatives and the further strengthening of human capital in the field of digital technologies.
