Cooperation with Meta Set to Reach a New Level

Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with Beth Ann Lim, Director of Public Policy, Strategy and Campaigns for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region at Meta, to discuss the development of Uzbekistan's digital economy, the expansion of bilateral cooperation, and the advancement of digital skills among young people.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on ongoing efforts to equip youth with modern skills, create new opportunities for professional growth, and generate high-value employment in the digital sector.
The Uzbek side presented information on the rapid development of the country’s startup ecosystem, measures being implemented to support technology entrepreneurship, and initiatives aimed at encouraging innovation. Meta representatives positively assessed the growth of Uzbekistan’s startup landscape and discussed opportunities to foster innovation, support local startups and entrepreneurs access international markets.
Particular attention was paid to the launch of Small Business Growth Academy, a program that combines Meta's AI-powered business tools — like Advantage+ and Meta Business Agent — with hands-on training delivered by certified local partners from CoobX. The program, a first in Asia-Pacific region, aims to provide startups, young people and small-medium businesses with practical skills in digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
The parties emphasized the importance of such initiatives in preparing young people for future professions, creating new employment opportunities, and building a highly qualified talent pool for the country’s digital economy.
In addition, information was presented on the incentives available to IT Park residents, including tax preferences and support mechanisms such as the Incentives program, highlighting their role in attracting international technology companies and startups.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for expanding cooperation in cybersecurity, exchanging expertise, enhancing security across digital platforms, and implementing joint initiatives in this area.
At the conclusion of the discussions, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation in digital technologies, innovation, entrepreneurship development, digital skills enhancement, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
