Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with Sheikh Mansoor bin Khalifa Al Thani, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Qatar's MBK Holding, to discuss expanding strategic cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, innovation, and human capital development.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, the commercialization of scientific research, investment in information technologies, and the development of a highly skilled digital workforce.

The parties exchanged views on Uzbekistan's potential to become a leading regional hub for artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies in Central Asia and the CIS region. They also discussed opportunities to engage the country's young professionals in international projects, expand AI education and training, and create new high-value employment opportunities.

Particular attention was given to the introduction of artificial intelligence solutions across healthcare, education, and public administration, as well as to expanding cooperation with international technology companies operating in Uzbekistan and making more effective use of the country's human capital.

The meeting also addressed modern approaches to the commercialization of scientific research. Discussions focused on bringing innovative technologies developed by Uzbek researchers to international markets while enabling scientists to concentrate on research and innovation.

In addition, the parties explored opportunities to strengthen Uzbekistan's position as a regional hub for information technology and artificial intelligence by establishing joint ventures, supporting high-potential startups, developing export-oriented AI products, and fostering a sustainable innovation ecosystem that connects science, education, and industry.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to advance practical cooperation through the implementation of joint projects and the expansion of the long-term strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and MBK Holding.
