President Shavkat Mirziyoyev advocates expanding cooperation with ICESCO

The parties discussed further expanding the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and this leading institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Satisfaction was expressed with the consistent development of practical cooperation with the organization.
An ICESCO Chair operates at the International Islamic Academy. Earlier this year, an office of the organization was opened in Tashkent. Following the regular meeting of the Islamic World Heritage Committee held in February, seven tangible and intangible cultural heritage sites of Uzbekistan were included in the ICESCO List.
During the meeting, particular attention was given to the restoration, preservation, and digitization of cultural monuments and manuscripts, the promotion of Uzbekistan's rich historical heritage through international media platforms, and the organization of joint events.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan presented Salim M. AlMalik with the "Dustlik" Order in recognition of his personal contribution to the broad promotion of the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
