Uzbekistan Discusses Measures to Further Improve the IT Investment Climate

Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with legal consultant Marie-Ann Birken and strategic communications and international branding expert Jonathan Charles, representatives of the Office of the Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan S. Chakrabarti.
The talks focused on further increasing Uzbekistan’s attractiveness as an investment destination for the IT sector, creating favorable conditions for foreign investors, improving investment attraction processes, and strengthening coordination among organizations working in this area.
Particular attention was given to strengthening information exchange between institutions responsible for attracting investment across different sectors and regions, as well as establishing a unified and transparent approach to engagement with investors.
Measures to facilitate market entry for small and medium-sized foreign companies seeking to establish operations in Uzbekistan were also considered.
Another area of discussion was the possibility of extending effective approaches developed in the IT sector to investment attraction in other areas of the economy. Providing investors with comprehensive support from market entry through project implementation was highlighted as an important factor in creating a more favorable investment environment.
Closer cooperation between Enterprise Uzbekistan and other investment platforms was also addressed, with a focus on improving coordination among these platforms and providing investors with clear and systematic information about the opportunities and support mechanisms available to them.
The parties agreed to continue cooperation in these areas, develop practical proposals to improve investment attraction processes in the IT sector, and further strengthen mutual engagement.
