Uztelecom has announced a new milestone in the development of Uzbekistan’s digital infrastructure. Uztelecomand its subsidiary, UZ-SAT JV LLC, have signed an agreement with Amazon Leo to serve as an authorized distributor in Uzbekistan.

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite constellation with a mission to bring fast, reliable internet to customers beyond the reach of traditional networks.

The collaboration will help expand connectivity in areas where deploying traditional telecommunications infrastructure is challenging. Satellite solutions will complement existing terrestrial networks and create new connectivity opportunities for residents of remote communities, as well as businesses operating in hard-to-reach areas.

For individuals, greater access to high-speed internet can open up new opportunities to use digital government services, access online education and telemedicine, work remotely, and stay connected. For businesses, modern satellite solutions can provide additional connectivity options for production and infrastructure facilities, while supporting the continued development of a more connected digital environment across Uzbekistan.

Uztelecom continues to invest in the development of Uzbekistan’s telecommunications infrastructure by expanding its fiber-optic network, modernizing mobile connectivity, and developing modern data centers and cloud platforms. Today, the company provides connectivity to 96% of communities and operates 378 802 km of fiber-optic infrastructure.

At the same time, the country’s geography creates a need for alternative connectivity technologies in certain remote and hard-to-reach areas. Amazon Leo satellite solutions are intended to complement Uztelecom’s existing infrastructure by extending connectivity options to locations where terrestrial network deployment is limited or less economically viable.

Under the agreement, UZ-SAT, acting as an authorized distributor of Amazon Leo, will create and provide connectivity solutions to customers across Uzbekistan, using Amazon Leo’s network and capabilities to deliver them.

The agreement, announced during the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, marks another step forward in expanding international technology cooperation and introducing advanced connectivity solutions in Uzbekistan.

The service was launched on the first day of ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026, Uzbekistan’s Information and Communication Technologies Week. The launch took place at the company’s booth during an official visit by a distinguished delegation and representatives of Amazon.
