Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with Simone Giger, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting focused on the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Switzerland in digital technologies, artificial intelligence, innovation, investment, and research and development.

The Minister briefed the Swiss side on the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the field of digital transformation, the development of the IT sector and startup ecosystem, as well as opportunities created for foreign investment. It was also noted that particular attention is being paid to expanding IT service exports and developing startups that combine software solutions with other technological capabilities.

The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation in artificial intelligence. In particular, they exchanged views on developing open and practical AI models for digital education and other sectors.

The meeting also addressed opportunities to expand the participation of Swiss companies in investment projects in Uzbekistan. In this regard, the sides discussed the use of Swiss mechanisms to support export and strengthening ties between the business communities of the two countries.

The sides expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation between relevant organizations and the private sectors of the two countries, and bring cooperation in digital technologies to a new level.
