The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea in artificial intelligence, digital education, robotics, and digital government.
The sides also exchanged views on the next steps to implement the initiatives proposed at the Central Asia–Republic of Korea Summit, held in September this year with the participation of the leaders of the two countries.
In particular, the parties discussed prospects for expanding artificial intelligence activities in Uzbekistan, promoting research and development (R&D), and engaging leading Korean higher education institutions in these efforts. It was noted that preliminary discussions were underway to establish cooperation with Seoul National University in this area.
The sides also addressed opportunities to expand strategic cooperation in science and technology, particularly in robotics and the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in industry.
In addition, the meeting explored opportunities to enhance AI knowledge and skills among the population, especially young people, and to introduce Korean online courses through the “Five Million AI Leaders” initiative.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working on the initiatives discussed, maintain dialogue with relevant institutions, and develop new areas of digital cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea.
