The session was organized within a business program attended by representatives of government agencies from Central Asian countries and the United States, as well as leading companies.
Discussions focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence development, investment in technological infrastructure, and opportunities to expand cooperation between companies from the region and American partners.
The panel brought together Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov; David Fogel, Assistant Secretary of Commerce of the United States; representatives of Central Asian countries; and representatives of Google and other international technology companies.
Addressing the session, Minister Sherzod Shermatov emphasized that Uzbekistan’s main goal is to become one of the key centers of both the regional and global digital economy.
“We are paying particular attention to developing human capital in our country, improving young people’s knowledge and skills in modern technologies, supporting innovation, and creating a favorable business environment for international companies.
By combining Uzbekistan’s potential with international cooperation, we aim to attract new investment, expand IT services exports, and make our country an active participant in global technology supply chains.
Cooperation with American companies opens up significant opportunities in this regard. We are interested in bringing their advanced experience, technologies, and knowledge to our country, developing the capabilities of local specialists, and implementing mutually beneficial projects.
At the same time, we view the Central Asian countries not as competitors, but as partners working toward shared goals. Cooperation among the countries of the region, the exchange of experience, and joint initiatives help strengthen Central Asia’s overall competitiveness on the international stage.
We believe that by investing in human capital, developing digital infrastructure, and strengthening international cooperation, new opportunities can be created for Uzbekistan and the entire region,” the Minister said.
Particular attention during the session was given to investment opportunities in Uzbekistan’s information technology sector.
Participants were introduced to IT Park Uzbekistan’s potential and the capabilities of the Enterprise Uzbekistan International Center for Digital Technologies as a platform for attracting foreign companies, developing innovative entrepreneurship, and bringing technology projects to international markets.
The discussions identified promising areas for cooperation in the digital economy, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and technology workforce training. Participants also emphasized the importance of establishing direct business ties and developing new partnerships.
