A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Committee on Innovative Development and Information Technologies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the Research Institute for Development of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence under the Ministry of Digital Technologies.  
The signing event was attended by deputies of the Legislative Chamber, officials of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, researchers of the institute, and representatives of the media.  
Main discussions and objectives  
Participants were introduced to Uzbekistan's latest advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and ongoing projects aimed at promoting the development of AI. Discussions covered the potential applications of AI technologies and their role in the country's digital transformation.  
The Memorandum aims to:  
- Improve legislation in the field of digital technologies and AI  
- Expand public participation in the legislative process  
- Promote legal awareness in the field of AI  
- Supporting strategic initiatives for national development  
Scope of cooperation  
Under this agreement, cooperation will focus on  
- Promoting innovative development in AI and digital technologies  
- Conducting scientific research on AI applications and challenges  
- Examining international best practices in AI regulation  
- Strengthening public engagement by making legislative processes more transparent and accessible  
This partnership between the parliament and the research community is expected to contribute to more effective legislation that reflects societal needs and to strengthen Uzbekistan's democratic reforms.
